10 Year Mission Reunion for Mangelson Missionaries (1996-1999)

Edit: Update information can be found in this pdf link.

To Our Beloved Missionaries,

We are planning to have a missionary reunion in 2009 for those who served with us 1996-to 1999. It will be 10 years in July of 2009 since Sister Mangelson and I returned home from our mission. We would love to see as many of you who could possibly come to renew acquaintance and catch up on your activities and family life. Since many of you have children we were wondering what would be the best setting. Some have expressed the desire to have a summer picnic in the park where the children could play the adults visit. Our usual format is to have the reunion in a ward building the Friday before General Conference, which would be April 3, 2009. We would like to have your input as to your preference as to location and look forward to hearing from you.

In the first few years after our mission several of you who were planning marriage asked if I could perform your sealing in the temple. Unfortunately, at that time I did not have the sealing power to do so. Early this year I was called to be a sealer in the Salt Lake Temple, the authorization given by President Monson two days after he was named the new Prophet and President of the Church. On February 20, 2008, President Uchtdorf conferred the sealing power on me. That was such a special occasion, and even more so since we had had so much contact with him in Europe when he was our Area President. For those who are not yet married and desire to be married in the Salt Lake Temple I would now be delighted to be involved in your sealing if you desire.

We send our love and hope to hear from you as to your desire to timing and place for the reunion next year.

Loving regards,

Ned L. Mangelson
